EQUILIBRIUM IS A VISIONARY PARTY a more ‘Revolutionary Conservative’ centre right party with a clear ambition to represent each Parliamentary Seat across the UK in the next general election. The Conservatives are still putting their house in order and the Labour Party are sliding down the charts like a 1980’s one hit wonder.
Please read our ‘Commitment Manifesto’ and if you feel this party is for you, please drop us a line with your interest. If we can achieve a positive response from circa 100,000 potential members we’ll inaugurate the party and vie at the next General Election.
We will be looking to attract the 40% of the voting electorate who didn’t vote in the 2024 general election, the 40% who feel disenchanted and disenfranchised with politics, the same 40% who just simply don’t trust politicians and with good reason. They are the quiet majority who can now make a difference and scream at the top of their voice by voting for Equilibrium, a party that will put common sense and respect back into the UK political ethos.
Plain and simple, the people of the UK are disenchanted and fed up with politics and politicians. Let’s face it, the Conservatives were voted out because they became disconnected with the will of the people and Labours subsequent landslide victory was more of a reaction to that than a fundamental change in political belief.
What the UK requires is a party that can balance the needs and aspirations of the people with the requirements of the Nation, so that we can all live in a fair, open-minded and equitable society which is forward focused and founded on the self-respect which we once had in ourselves as a nation, as a neighbour, and as a friend.
People are this country’s greatest asset and it is a travesty that we seem to have forgotten this.
Throughout our history we have given the world through our tradition of invention and innovation, the most remarkable ideas and products.
The genius of the United Kingdom has transformed the way the world lives.
Despite being one of the smallest countries on the planet we have the sixth highest GDP and rank fourth in the world for Exports just behind China, The United States and Germany.
We believe that everyone should live the life they want to live, follow the God they wish and celebrate tradition and different cultures from around the world together as one nation, on the clear understanding that the rights and freedoms of the individual are in no way impeded or undermined in any respect.
What we do not believe in is state-approved multiculturalism, where being different and divided is actively promoted and all cultures are considered equal whilst the founding culture of the UK itself is often denigrated, this of course is entirely wrong and we regard it as a basic tenet of a civilised society that all people are equal.
Equilibrium won’t be able to make the changes that are required on its own, but with the people behind it, we can make this Country a Better Place.
We will be looking for the votes from all those who didn't vote in the last general election as well as all the votes which were lent to the Liberal Democrats and Labour.
Many of you are frustrated and rightly angered by the conveyor belt of clichéd empty rhetoric and promises that you have been subjected to for so many years, you are not alone in feeling that we are losing our heritage, our self-respect, our country.
Let us unite and shock the system - turf out the 'Tax Happy' Labour party and make a real commitment to getting this country back on track not through raising tax but by expanding industry and creating new economies.
Equilibrium believes in a managed professional immigration policy which promotes international collaboration and expertise.
Equilibrium will be looking to trigger immediate withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
Equilibrium have a number of policies, The Square Mile is wrapped up in regulations and it’s our intend to de-regulate the City and turn the UK into a dynamic European Singapore.
A thorough collaborative investigation into the fundamental needs and requirements of the NHS needs to be undertaken as a priority.
Equilibrium will be initiating a three-and-out system, three opportunities to take a job and after that, benefits will be removed.
An immediate increase of GDP spend on Defence and bringing in National Service for the long term unemployed. Increase recruitment through schools, joint university/MOD courses and setting of caps on financial incentives to third party recruitment agencies.
National Service Plus - will be a new service to get the unemployed up and out, it will span across Defence, NHS, Care and in some cases international charity work.
Legalise Marijuana as a recreational drug, but first and most importantly, we need medical Marijuana to be made available to the most vulnerable patients who require it.
Equilibrium will be looking at the Zero Tolerance “broken windows” policy as successfully implemented in New York. There is too much political interference in policing and their remit should be clear and unambiguous, allowing them to act quickly, efficiently and fairly whilst remaining fully accountable
A comprehensive shakeup of housing through incentives will radically assist young working married couples to get onto the property ladder.
Death and Taxes are sure to be the only two certainties in life – but ‘Death Taxes’ are wrong.
See below for an outline of more Equilibrium policies
There are 43 million refugees globally, but not all of them are in danger, many are economic refugees or just seeking better opportunities abroad, so the UK needs to manage any particular system with extreme care.
We can’t just turn back the little boats - Nigel! We can't deport people back to Iran, Afghanistan or Syria, but we also can’t allow 12.8 million of these refugees into the UK. TRUE Asylum seekers should claim asylum status in the first free country they enter, not travel half way across the world to the UK.
The choices ahead are limited, Europe won’t take the illegal small boats back. In fact, they are attempting to reduce asylum seeker numbers across the entire Union. Germany is currently pushing back after a rise in serious crime, they're also considering reducing financial assistance to immigrants so as to discourage asylum seekers. Berlin has also ordered checks on all its borders, which they think is justified due to cross-border crime, the Netherlands is following suit.
The University of Amsterdam calculated that, over the lifetime of the average asylum migrant, the public costs are more than £400,000. The UK government won’t even consider looking into these calculations.
EQUILIBRIUM WILL -
1. Trigger the original Rwanda policy- or an equivalent off-shore processing centre.
2. Withdraw from the ECHR & HRA 1998. (Human Rights Act)
3. Withdraw government funding from charities who promote suing the government.
4. Withdraw access to Legal Aid for illegal immigrants.
There are over a million illegal immigrants in the UK and we will be looking to:
1. Remove all illegal immigrants on discovery, within a ten-day period.
2. Increase fines for people employing illegal immigrants to £250k per immigrant.
3. Companies employing illegal immigrants may have their assets seized.
4. Directors can be jailed and/or deported if a foreign national.
Respect: All legal and illegal immigrants in the UK, whether they have an indefinite leave to remain or not, will face deportation if they commit a crime which results in them having to attend court and subsequently being found guilty. (with the exception of minor crimes).
The Balance: If any UK born citizens are prosecuted through foreign courts and/or deported back to the UK, their passports will be withdrawn until UK courts are satisfied that such behaviour will not be repeated, this will also include any criminal behaviour at foreign sports events.
Was Brexit a success? Well Yes and No, our economy is out pacing Germany and France so it’s going in a positive direction, problem is, Europe still has the UK in its grip.
Europe is still controlling many of our laws and if Labour continues on their current course, the working practices of the UK will be that of France, Spain and Italy which sounds positive but will in reality be a devastating blow to our economy, with constant strikes, high unemployment and companies finding it hard to hire and fire and our one dynamic entrepreneurial ethos totally undermined, in brief the UK will become an economic Chernobyl - a wasteland.
Yes we have left the EU our closest business territory…. but it’s the United States of American which is our biggest trading partner in exports to and imports from…. Not Europe!
Does the United States tell us how to run our economy? Do they tell us which immigration flights can or can’t take off from British soil?
Let’s look at the bigger picture here…. 15 years ago the European Union and the United States were peers with regard to productivity… now that gap is huge, with the United States economy being a massive 50% bigger than Europe’s.
I’m not suggesting we fully align with the US, but being tethered with the poor performing economies of Europe has damaged not only our economy, but our global standing.
Brexit was never going to be a quick fix for the economy and immigration…. But we’re now out pacing the economies of Europe's largest partners, Germany and France.
Let us not get pulled back into a Europe based on short term narrow mindedness and financial gain, but rather set our ambitions to the long term. In eight years our economy will be out pacing Europe several fold.
Unfortunately under Labour there is already a mass exodus of entrepreneurs and business leaders with talk of yet more taxes and even closer ties to Europe.
Taking this into account, Equilibrium will be looking to implement an immediate withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
The last Labour government wrapped the Square Mile up in red tape regulation, but that still didn’t stop the following two financial crashes.
Equilibrium will be looking to de-regulate the City and turn the UK into a European Singapore.
WE ARE GOING TO BUILD A NEW ECONOMY
The Tech Hub - Britain will become the World’s leading power house of scientific innovation, with free fast-track visas and huge investment incentives for all new technology, from fission to Space and AI, as well as environmental technology, battery and microchip design and production.
British Steel and Tech - UK infrastructure projects from Battleships to Railways and Bridges will need to have their steel supplied to them from UK based companies as part of the drive to keep the UK a self-sustaining economy reducing the huge emissions and costs of importation and thereby creating and consolidating a root to branches process for manufacturing.
Space The Next Frontier -
The British space industry will become a major economic force. We will concentrate on creating more science, engineering and math-based university courses in an attempt to rejuvenate desire, ambition and scientific expertise.
Financial incentives such as reduced fees will encourage students to rise above the conventional average and literally push for the stars, we aim to put the UK on a dynamic “scientific footing”.
We will be looking at the feasibility of establishing a permanent scientific base on the moon with the idea to further research and use as a launch pad to outer space.
The route to real progress is ironically to rewind the clock and reconnect with our traditional values and methods from primary school on.
Taking things back to the fundamentals in mathematics and engineering will ensure no child is without a thorough understanding of the basics.
We need to look forward… we need to look up!
City of the future - We are going to join forces with some of the world’s brightest inventors, engineers, designers and investors and build the greenest and the most modern new city in Europe where self-drive cars will be allowed, prior to full roll out to the entire UK.
Subsidies will be available for UK based manufacturers in the electric car and aero industries thereby reducing 26% of the UK’s carbon foot print.
Race to the Bottom- White goods, electronics and fashion are some of the products overdue a review.
We will introduce into law “and enforce” the improvements of products built in the UK... no longer will a washing machine conk out 10 days after the warranty.
The UK will raise the standards of our manufacturing process so that items brought today will have a fair and extended life.
Unemployment benefits were created to help those in need, those who may have fallen on hard times, or are unable to find work due to mental or physical limitations.
Unfortunately, there seems to be an ever-increasing category of individuals who believe it’s their right to take advantage of this system.
Sometimes it's easy to fall into a slump, so a form of National Service will be introduced to break this pattern of behaviour and help people get back into the routine of working for a living.
Charity work drives, both in the UK and abroad and mental wellbeing with physical exercise schemes will be in place to energise a disinclined work force.
Equilibrium will implement a three-and-out system, three opportunities to take a job and after that, benefits will be removed.
The National Health Service is a wonderful organisation that requires a lot of attention.
Initial ideas:
1: Remove the cap on UK born medical students in education.
2: Enforce insurance claims or charges on foreign visitors and tourists when they require treatment or the missing fee will be reclaimed from the medical trusts.
3: Pay-Back Scheme: Medical students taking up placement in the UK after graduating in our medical schools will have their tuition fees repaid on a yearly basis whilst employed by the NHS in a planned drive to retain staff.
4: Life Style Contribution: Those people who choose a specific life-style and as a consequence require more NHS treatment, may need to contribute to their ongoing costs.
5: UK Nationals paying for private cosmetic surgery, within the UK or abroad will need an insurance policy should they require emergency procedures on their return.
6: People who miss multiple NHS appointments will be charged a fine.
7: Create a number of national Bed Blocking hospitals where patients are moved out of hospitals and either returned to smaller community hospitals or transferred to a much larger ‘half-way’ hospital where patients are prepped for returning home giving local councils more time to adapt properties where necessary.
8: Drunkenness that leads to police or medical intervention will be charged back to the individual.
9: Investigate the extortionate agency fees for medical staff and cap them.
10: Centralise acquisitions for the NHS
11: All GP Surgeries will need to update their records so that they are not receiving central funds for patients that have moved away from their area or passed away.
The UK’s military are one of the best trained fighting forces in the world if not the best, but numbers have been shrinking and budgets plummeting…
We need to reverse this trend immediately. We are currently on a cold war footing and bullies only respond to strength. We aim to increase the UK spend to 3% / 3.5% of UK GDP in order to fully update our forces by modernising and restocking our arsenals and getting our hunter killer submarines back into the sea.
This needs to be put in place immediately as our national security is at stake, the dilly dallying and procrastination of the Labour Party, ie.... "oh yes, we'll do that, just not sure when!" will simply not do.
We also need as a matter of urgency to recruit, retain and increase the size of the army, this will be completed through several schemes, such as National Service, proper pay and better conditions.
With the new advanced technologies now being utilised in Navy ship building, all new naval ships will be built by British ship builders in the United Kingdom.
National Service will be introduced to break the endemic pattern of negative behaviour and help people get back into the routine of working for a living.
It won’t be for everyone, the long term unemployed, people who can’t hold jobs down will be the first on the list.
Graduates will have a choice to go into the work place or to sign up to one of the options listed below*.
If they choose to join up the government will not only pay them a wage but also radically reduce their student debt repayments.
Charity work drives, both here in the UK and abroad along with mental wellbeing and physical exercise schemes will be put in place to energise a disinclined work force.
*National Service will be split into Defence, NHS and Care Working, people will be assigned according to their age, experience and location.
Marijuana will be legalised as a recreational drug, but it will only be supplied by licenced U.K based producers.
This law will take time to implement, as the plants need to be grown and tested to ascertain the quality prior to dissemination. There will be guidelines on how many can be purchased and consumed.
It will remain illegal to grow, consume and import or export any grown by unlicenced individuals or companies.
Full control of the process of cultivation will ensure the quality of the product which will also be supplied to the NHS for prescription use.
As always, Equilibrium looks to find balance, from the moment Marijuana becomes legal the following custodial judgements will apply:
1. Possession of a Class-A drug will raise to a minimum of 10 years in prison and/or an unlimited fine.
2. Class-A with intent to supply, 25 years and an unlimited fine.
3. For smuggling Class-A drugs over a border, 25-30 years and an unlimited fine.
4. People found to have a class-A drug in their system, a five-year sentence.
5. If a Class-A drug or Marijuana is the cause of a road traffic incident, or some such, which results in a life being lost, a 25-year sentence will be handed out.
We will be initiating a number of schemes to reduce organised crime.
Once the UK is no longer part of the ECHR, there will be a complete removal of all foreign criminals from the UK.
Career criminals will have all their possessions and assets including those of their partner’s removed in reparation.
There will be a reduction in police red tape.
The police will be granted greater powers enabling them to respond more reactively and efficiently.
An internal oversight committee will be put in place to monitor and ensure the efficient running and accountability of all processes.
The police need to be depoliticized – there will be no bias founded on any party-political agenda. A transparent accountable objectivity will be the guiding ethos.
Working front line officers need to be able to do their jobs with the full backing of the force and government.
Policy will be put in place to protect the officers from crime families and criminals.
A proposal will be made to remove ‘Civil Safety’ from anyone running from the police once they have identified themselves.
If an incident occurs while running from the police, the police will not be held responsible for the safety of that potential suspect.
Police procedure must be followed but the safety of the general public and the officer will always take precedence.
Foreign criminals serving time in a UK prison will be deported immediately their sentence has been served.
A radical incentive will be introduced to get young married working couples onto the property ladder.
This will include: One full financial year, from the highest income tax payer in the couple will have the tax monies returned and invested into the deposit of the property via HMRC, who will own a pro-rata percentage of the property, and while the couple are both working and living over the coming years the pro-rata percentage will reduce and after a number of years the HMRC owned portion will return to the home owner, without any repayments.
To cashflow UK water companies to build a network of water highways that transports rainwater from streets drainage away from rivers and into the reservoirs.
This is going to happen one day, let’s do it now, before it’s too late and we panic to get it completed at a later day.
Equilibrium will:
1. Reduce the inheritance tax rate by 50% year on year until it is abolished.
2. With immediate affect remove the inheritance tax liabilities of all family run farms.
AGRICULTURE
The UK needs to be more self-sufficient, past dealings with Europe has proved that the UK is way down on their list of prioritise when push comes to shove.
1. Subsidies will be made available to UK farms proactively using new technologies and/or starting new ventures particularly with a view to making the industry less reliant on foreign imports and labour.
2. Reduce student loans if they assist during the harvest season.
ENVIRONMENTAL
The UK has an extraordinary record of innovation and invention, it is the land of the industrial revolution and it is both our priority and responsibility to nurture and encourage this dynamic and creative culture through properly funded research and development programmes.
EDUCATION
Introduce a higher wage band to incentivise and reward excellence in teaching.
Work with schools and teachers to make the teacher work load more manageable with the priority and emphasis on creating a higher level of engagement, to fully enthuse and encourage the student.
Radically increase the number of Grammar Schools.
Exempt private schools from the discriminatory charge of VAT, and give financial assistance to those schools that were forced to close during Labour’s term in power allowing them to reopen.
HIV
We were on track to eradicate HIV-related deaths by 2030 – but because of the huge increase in the number of HIV cases from people born outside of the UK, this achievement is now unrealistic. Many countries around the world require an HIV test to be completed during the visa application process, the UK must have the same requirement.
SHOP LIFTING
Shop lifters will be given one official warning, subsequent offenses will initiate a compulsory and immediate one-week community service. Further infractions will increase the community service terms and in certain cases their personal details may be displayed on social media as a name and shame deterrent.
DEPARTMENT OF COMMON SENSE – For the want of a better name:
This will be positioned within the Home Office and will specifically look at a variety of cases that have passed through the courts, both current and historical and will consider if indeed the law was being an ass!
Some judgements have been handed down that were clearly incorrect. It is a ludicrous aberration that some individuals have been awarded huge settlements out of all proportion to the severity of the offense.
This department will act as an independent advisory board to the courts, in the same way that the House of Lords reflect and consider on the deliberations of the House of Commons.
BLOOD DONATION
As an incentivising option, students will be offered lower rate of tuition fees if they donate blood a minimum of twice a year.
CHILDCARE
Investigate the government incentives, processes and methods used by the childcare companies to ensure that all the benefits and advantages are indeed being passed onto the parents and are not just facilitating an increase in the margin of profit.
PRIVATE MEDICAL – Tax will be removed from private health care
THE ROADS
Increase the speed limit on motorways throughout the UK.
Remove the 20mph speed limits in built up areas unless outside of schools.
TWINNING
The UK will twin with an Overseas Territory, like the British Virgin Islands and work together to raise the living standards of that country through the creation of enhanced education and employment programs and focused collaboration.
